NOTE: If you have booked the A1 Anchorage (La Playa) on a holiday, you may be entitled to stay an extra day

La Playa Cove is a 72-hour weekend-only anchorage located between San Diego and Southwestern Yacht Clubs in the Shelter Island Yacht Basin. The hours of anchoring are from 0900 hours on Friday through 0900 hours on Monday.
Holiday Notice:
In case of a weekend holiday, anchoring is permitted for 96 hours. If the holiday falls on a Friday, anchoring is permitted from 0900 hours on Thursday through 0900 hours on Monday.
If the holiday falls on a Monday, anchoring is permitted from 0900 hours on Friday through 0900 hours on Tuesday.

Regulations:
Maximum length of vessel is 65’ for all Anchorages & Guest Dock Slips. A 24-hour minimum advance notice is required for all anchoring permits and may be reserved up to 1 year in advance. Permits will not be issued for the same day. No more than three (3) 72-hour anchoring permit may be issued to any person or boat in any calendar period. Three permits may be issued for A1 or A5, or both, but are cumulative. No two (2) seventy two (72) hour Anchoring Permits shall be issued on consecutive calendar days for the same Anchorage.
A1 Permits Regulations
These permits are available on-line via the Port’s Website, reservations.portofsandiego.org/boating, up to one year in advance. Any person and/or boat are eligible for three 72-hour anchoring permits in any 1 Calendar Month. The three permits may be issued for either A1 or A5, or any combination not exceeding the limit of 3 permits. Reservations for weekend permits in A-1 are needed no later than Thursday at 11:59 P.M. prior to the weekend reservation date. No late call-ins or requests will be accepted. Permits will not be issued for the same day. All boats must have holding tanks.
